The Stables BBS has been around since 1989. Before the internet some computer geeks would dedicate their computers to run what were called Bulletin Board Systems. Only one person could log-on at a time using your home phone line, and the baud rate was 300 bps. 10 times SLOWER than dial up! So the phone line was being used constantly. Many SYSOPS (system operators) had to purchase second phone lines to run their systems. I was introduced to running a BBS by a good friend I met at work. When he showed me what it was all
about, I was hooked. These systems provided message rooms, games played against other users, live chat with the sysop, local information, jokes, file up and downloads, in-house mail system and much more. The Stables BBS was one of those systems running TRIBBS software on a Commodore C-64 computer and several (like 12) floppy drives daisy chained together to provide enough space for all the goodies. After hundreds of hours of work The Stables has made it's transition to the internet. We tried to keep the same style and feel as the old Stables had. So set back, take off your shoes, pants, blouse, bra, panties and get ready to tour the place Mister Ed lives and plays. You will never be the same when you leave here as you were when you first arrived. For that I do apologize ahead of time. The Stables is up-dated every weekend with something new and interesting. (And probably totally perverted).

A very
self-important college freshman attending a recent football game,
took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why
it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.
"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one,"
the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. "The young
people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man
walking on the moon, our spaceships have visited Mars. We have nuclear
energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers with DSL, BPS, light-speed
processing .....and.....,"
As the student paused to take another drink of beer, the Senior took
advantage of the break in the student's litany and said:
"You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young, ......
so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little twit, what are you doing for
the next generation?" The applause was resounding ....
